冬季风暴天气在星期六肆虐后，大波特兰地区造成大面积的破坏，已经报告至少有4人死亡，所有MAX仍在暂停。
1月14日，摩特诺玛县（包括波特兰）报告了第二例冷死事件，第一例发生在星期六。
另有两人的死亡跟断树有关：
- 星期六，在波特兰东南区，一棵树倒在一辆停放的无家可归车房上，压断了电线引发火灾，一名人死亡，一人受伤，两人逃脱；
- 在Lake Oswego，一棵树倒在一座房子上，插穿二楼，导致一名男子死亡。
同样是1月14日，TriMet公司表示，“雪和冰正在覆盖轨道，并在某些地区嵌入铁轨中。树木堵塞了轨道并损坏了架空电线。在恢复服务之前，这一切都需要清除。MAX服务继续暂停。”

MAX service update: Snow and ice is covering our tracks and embedded in our rails in some areas. Trees have blocked tracks and damaged our overhead wire. This all needs to be cleared before service can be restored. MAX service continues to be suspended.
