7月28日，俄勒冈州州长科特克 (Tina Kotek)表示将否决一批州立法机构新通过的法案，但不会否决汽车自助加油法案House Bill 2426。
早在6月21日星期三，俄勒冈州允许司机自行加油的法案 House Bill 2426在参议院以16比9的投票通过。该法案于3月20日在众议院也获得通过。
因此，只需要州长科特克 (Tina Kotek)签个名，就能生效，从而结束 72 年来禁止大多数司机自行加油的禁令。
